Yesterday, we reported that the 21 days ultimatum given to the management of PolyUnwana by the Non academic Staff Union of the school has elapsed and that they are waiting on their national body to approve their proposed strike action as a tool to get the management to pay off their owed allowances. Well, the national body has replied them, and according to an insider, the body begged them not to embark on the strike yet as the management reached out to them and promised to pay up.
This information was made known to members of the union in a meeting held today, 29th of August, 2019 at the old lecture theater of the school.
Recall that the Academic Staff Union of the school is currently on an indefinite strike over unpaid allowances too, and the management has since paid off 5 months of the owed allowances since the industrial action started on the 1st of August, 2019.
