Here is why PolyUnwana NASU is yet to embark on an Indefinite Strike (Details)

Yesterday, CampusnewsNG reported that the Non Academic Staff Union  (NASU) Poly Unwana Chapter issued a 21 days ultimatum to management of the institution over non payment of Peculiar allowance (5.2% of their gross salary) for over 20 months. However, the said ultimatum expired days ago, and the union is threatening to embark on an indefinite strike!

One of our correspondence spoke with an Executive member of the union about its stand on the threatened industrial action, and here is what the said exco had to say:

We are waiting for our National body to give us the go ahead to embark on the strike, we can’t just go without their approval!

Recall that that the Academic Staff Union (ASUP) of the institution are currently on an indefinite strike over non payment of their PAA for months.

Recall also that we reported that the Management has paid these union members 5 months backlog of the owed allowances.
