Mellanby Boys Are Proud, They should Be Washing Our Water Tanks – Queenite.
The University of Ibadan has 9 undergraduate halls of residence comprising 6 male halls and 3 female halls and these halls are quite known for different characteristics. According to proximity, one of the closest halls of residence is Kenneth Mellanby hall and Queen Elizabeth II Hall. However, the cordial relationship between these two halls of residence hasn’t been perfect over the years and a popular sentence amongst the student community especially queenites is “I can’t date a Mellanbite”. Although the reason for such a blanket statement is quite unknown it has been recurring from Queenites with regards to their preference with regards to the male hall of residence.
A subscriber responded to a CAMPUS NEWS TV status update stating that she’s a Queenite but can’t date a Mellanbite. This further progressed into a discussion between both parties and she gave her reasons for such conclusions. She recounted an experience she had in the hall of residence with a Mellanbite and this informed her decision regarding Mellanbites. She stated that a trait synonyms with Mellanby Boys is being proud and rude.
She said “About the rudeness, There was this day my roommate was pressed and she had to use a toilet.
I told her to manage that we will soon get to hostel, she said she can’t hold it. She had to enter mellanby to use their toilet, then one guy came and asked us are we final year students?, we said NO, the next I heard was get lost.”
She also stated that due to proximity, Mellanby boys should be the ones to wash Queen Elizabeth II Hall water tanks.
