FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD DIE FROM NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER?

Did you know an average person could live without food for nearly two months, but cannot survive more than about one week without water?…. and that says how essential water is to human life.
Water is revered as one of the most important classes of food with its many benefits ranging from regulating body temperature, helping maintain blood pressure, flushing waste, cushioning the brain and spinal cord, aiding digestion to lubricate the joints and reducing friction. We probably now have an insight into the thoughts that prompted the iconic lyrics of the legendary ‘Afro-beat’ musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti; lyrics saying “water e no get enemy, omi o lota oo” (water is without enemy). In fact, take a glass of water before following through with this article.
Approximately 80% of your brain tissue is made of water (about the same percentage as a living tree). By the time you feel thirsty, your body has lost about 1 percent of its total water intake; you definitely should not let it get to this point. The need for good hydration should not be underestimated. It is important!!
WHAT TO DO??
The average amount of water you need per day is about 3.5 litres. You are probably wondering if you can take that much considering you are not a camel. One, two, three litres and you are there. These are tips on how to get it done without “overdrinking yourself” or simply put being drunk on water
-a sachet of pure water houses 50 cl (0.5litres) of water. All you have to do is take 7 sachets across the day. (7×0.5=3.5 litres).
– should you be a lover of bottled water, one bottle holds 75cl(0.75litres). The math dictates you need to drink just 5.
-you could label your jugs or graduate your bottles on how much water you want to take at specific intervals which helps in pacing yourself.
-you could slice in lemons to have something different from the usual tasteless.
-setting alarms/reminders work the magic also.
Seems tough, but if the fictional Katara from the water tribe could bend water, you surely can do this.
…..and most importantly, never forget to drink water, keep glowing and mind your business.
