The Chairman of Air Peace, Barrister Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, a noble alumnus of the Ransome Kuti Hall, University of Ibadan has commissioned an imposing guest house he built and donated to the university. This good feat was under the body of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA).

Barrister Allen Onyema studied Law at the University of Ibadan and graduated in the year 1987; he was thereafter called to the bar two years after in 1989. Notably, Allen Onyema in his university days at Kuti Hall was an activist even beyond the University of Ibadan. In his earlier days, he stopped a religious riot at Zaria in the company of nine other students. He later went on to form the Eminent Friends’ Group to promote ethnic harmony.

Speaking during the commissioning, he stressed that Nigerians should be proud of their institutions saying “We need to be proud of Nigerian universities. That’s how it was in the good old days. We need to rediscover those days”.
He also lamented about the ongoing ASUU strike and urged the ASUU to reach an amicable decision with the government, and call off the strike.
According to him, “it pains me that our children have been at home for several months. For the sake of our nation, which is passing through trying times, and for the sake of the wellbeing of our children, ASUU should, please, call off the strike.
Among many other speakers including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, and the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Chief John Odigiehe, the Vice-chancellor of the University, Professor Kayode Adebowale, noted that the event was significant in many ways. “Today’s event is significant and outstanding in many ways.
