CIBN Donates Over 100-seater Hall To Ibadan Poly
Dr. Bayo Olugbemi, President and Chairman of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), has pledged the institute’s commitment to strengthening banking and finance education in Nigeria by injecting professionalism into the teaching and learning of the course.
Olugbemi made the pledge yesterday at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, during the official commissioning of the 160-seater “CIBN Bankers Hall,” which the Institute built for the institution. He said that revamping Nigeria’s educational system is a collective responsibility of all Nigerians, regardless of gender or race.
While urging Nigerians to work with the government to improve the educational system in order to ensure a brighter future for future generations, he noted that the government may not be able to offer all of the resources required to deliver great education, particularly at the tertiary level.
“This endeavor is our small contribution to the advancement of banking and finance education in Nigeria,” he says. The institute recognizes that the government, particularly at the tertiary level, may not be able to give all of the resources required to deliver high-quality education.
“The CIBN Bankers Hall” will be the name of the structure that is being dedicated today. It will act as a crucible for the education and training of future-ready bankers. The space is a 160-seat lecture theater that is completely furnished and equipped with cutting-edge technology.
“I have no doubt that this framework will play a key role in providing future bankers with a high-quality education.” As a result, I’d like to take this occasion to encourage students to utilize the hall appropriately so that future generations can benefit from it.
“I am pleased and honored to address this august audience on this important occasion.” We gathered here on Monday, October 18, 2021, to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for this magnificent structure that is being commissioned today.”
“I promised on that day that the building would be finished in record time. I am grateful to God for seeing the project through to completion and keeping us all alive to witness its commissioning. Indeed, yesterday’s hope has become today’s reality.
“I congratulate The Polytechnic Ibadan’s Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students on emerging as the best Linkage institution in the South-West geopolitical zone; an achievement that granted the school the uncommon distinction of benefiting from the Institute’s Legacy Project in the zone.
“Today’s occasion will go down in the annals of our esteemed Institute and The Polytechnic Ibadan since it is the realization of a long-held desire.”
He further mentioned that the institute began the legacy project in all six geopolitical zones, with The Polytechnic, Ibadan, being the first to be completed and commissioned.
Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi, the polytechnic’s rector, praised the CIBN’s whole membership and governing body for the chance given to the institution to build a completely equipped ultra-modern hall with state-of-the-art equipment.
