How To Meet New People And Create a Good First Impression
Last month, I got an invite to attend a seminar. I was excited and I was anticipating D-Day. My friend who invited me had told me I would be meeting some tech guys and they would be on the lookout for upcoming tech bros that they can recruit for their new project.

My excitement about the opportunities from the event increased my interest to watch out for the latest gists in the tech industry and also prepare for the event by ensuring I wore my bests shirts and shoes. I even went ahead to have my hair cut and trimmed down my beards.
On the day of the event, I got to the venue early so I could network with people before the commencement of the event.
Do you remember the last time you consciously wanted to meet someone, did you create a good impression after your first meeting?
Be it as it may, here are a few tips to help you meet new people and, of course, create a good first impression for it matters.
1. Create a beautiful atmosphere for yourself
Have a friendly aura, and if you don’t have one, try to create one. No one really wants to associate with a person with a hostile approach or a hostile reaction. Anyone who wants to have friends must show himself friendly.
If you are reached out to at first, give a friendly response even if you do not want to engage further.
2. Wear a confident and real smile
This could be a trick for your next interaction with a new person. A smile is the signal of hope. So, upon meeting a person, and at first contact without communication, a smile will simply do the job of communicating hope for positive interaction.
A smile is a nonverbal way of communication.

3. Learn to listen attentively
Attentive listening is a way of communication that connects two new people meeting for the first time together. It passes a message that makes people feel appreciated or acknowledged. It helps express to your new friend or colleague that he or she can confidently speak on anything and you will gladly listen.

4. Watch out for their area of interest
Smart people who listen carefully will take note of topics that interest their new friend. Hence, they use it as a means to keep a conversation going by engaging in their area of interest and so the relationship is sustained.
This strategy helps to trigger enthusiasm.
5. Your appearance speaks volumes.
Well, this should have come first, but it comes last because it will give a lasting impression about you. Your appearance also speaks confidence that attracts a great impression.
A smart outfit, a fresh cologne, and an attractive hairstyle echo after you leave.
All these can be used in both formal and informal settings. They describe people’s perceptions of us when they first meet us.
The next time, you are meeting people, try out those tips and you will see how they will always remember you.
