100 days in Office; Former and current Student leaders rate Mascot’s Administration
As today marks 100 days since the inauguration of consolidation team led by Adeyinka Adewole popularly known as Mascot, Campus News asked current and former student leaders to rate the consolidation team and here’s what they has to say concerning the current administration.
What the current administration has shown so far makes me feel that we handed over to capable hands. The energy towards the projects and activities they’ve conducted so far is interesting and their committment to continuity is commendable. With just a few touches there and here, I believe that this administration would be outstanding and successful.- Akeju Olusegun, Former President, University of Ibadan, Students Union.
Firstly, let me say a big congratulations to the consolidation team led by Adeyinka. Great achievements they have had within this short period of time. I believe the team have done well in all the areas, from different struggles, to organizing activities for the students. The major and popular struggle so far, which has been the major highlight, the fight for security of lives and properties of students outside school area especially Agbowo area is highly commendable and a show continuity in administration in an aspect to me, because, during the last administration there have been various meetings , letters in order to ensure the 3 Cs of Aluta is well utilized, we can all see the major role of continuity there, qudos to the Adeyinka led administration. So far, they should lived up to expectations of so many UITEs, and I continue to wish the team the best while in office. Aluta Continua!!!——- Oladeji Olawunmi Abiodun, Former Public relations officer, Students’ Union, University of ibadan
The Consolidation team has worked really hard within the space of 100 days spent in office, They provided illumination round the Students Union Building and also provided water. And most importantly the security of students and their properties is of paramount to the team. we really appreciate them for taking student’s welfarism as number one priority. We employ and encourage them to do better before the end of their tenure,
thank you.
God bless UISU,
God bless NAUS. — Comr. Shittu Ridwan A,
The Executive Chairman, National Association University Students (NAUS) CMC, Oyo State Chapter
The Consolidation team happens to be one administration that I’ve worked closely with but one thing I’m sure of is that they don’t announce all their doings, achievements and activities until they’re fully hatched, so at times, it looks like they’re being calm on an issue whereas a lot of work is going underground, they are silent achievers and I must give that to them. This is their first 100 days in office, their service is not complete with the collective efforts of all of us so if they must succeed as an administration, it’s a collective work of all of us. Let us give them the biggest support we can give them.—— Afolabi Nasirudeen Abayomi (Nas), President, Faculty of Agriculture and Chairman, Council of Faculty Presidents.
The administration has shown its interest towards improving the overall welfare of uites. They’ve also managed to build a cordial relationship with the school management which is quite applaudable and a sharp shift from the aluta-styled approach that have plagued the union in the past years.— Oloruntegbe Opeyemi
President, Technology and Engineering Students’ Association (TESA), Faculty of Technology.
The administration looks more promising. So far so good I can say they are well organized and they have been doing more of administrative work. So many holes to fill. I don’t want to say much but i look forward to a more achievements from them.—- Tunji Fashola, Hall chairman, Kenneth Mellanby hall
Well I would say in this 100 days the consolidation team have shown our cooperation is the best thing for an administration. And finally big shout out to the Sport secretary, man is the best so far.—— Egunfemi Akinbobola, Lord Tedder Hall chairman
Congratulations to the Consolidation Team, It is not an easy feat to have served the Students of the First and Best University for a period of 100 days. I believe they have been proactive enough to convey the needs of the students to the management and they have been able to find a common ground diplomatically a lot of times. They have been receptive to students views and make amends where necessary. In my own opinion, the only negatives so far is price regulation on Campus and security of our students who are staying off Campus. These are issues which I know the Union has been taking strides to take control of. In all, the Mascot led administration has performed satisfactorily so far but there is always room for improvement.——- Moriselade Farouk Soladoye-Adewole (MORRIZ), Hall Chairman, Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall.
In the last 100 days, the consolidation team has had it good and not so good moments. The team has however been able to emerge from whatever challenge that it is facing stronger. As a person who have served in different roles as appointed by the executives, I know that team as dedicated her time to laying foundations (forming various committees) on which they plan to pursue their harmonized manifestoes. I believe that if the potential of these various committees are fully explored, the Team Consolidation manifestoe would be fully delivered, and they would have been to raise the standard of unionism in Nigeria as the father of intellectual unionism that we are.— Samuel Samson Tobiloba HOST (Chairman, UISU BURSARY COMMITTEE)
So far, I’d say Team consolidation ably led by our gallant president Mascot is doing a beautiful job. Although the foundation have been laid by the previous administration. They are however consciously raising the bar and I must commend their communication skill too. A lot of students frequent the students’ union building because of how accommodating members of the executive council are and it is really going to help in re-igniting the spirit of unionism in Ui. I really wish them a successful administration and I pray that God grants them the grace to finish well.— Ejemeka Ogechi Joshua, Former hall chairman, Nnamdi Azikiwe hall.
We all at Campus News say a big congratulations to the Team Consolidation Executives on their 100 days in office landmark, more success to the service and benefit of the students and humankind.
