Pre NUGA Games Begins, Team UI Shows Supremacy, Wins Basketball Match with Over 50 points.
The long-anticipated Zone B preliminaries of the NUGA games have commenced at the University of Ibadan. The sports fiesta commenced on January 25 and is expected to last till the 30th of January 2022.
The University of Ibadan campus was graced with the arrival of participating institutions on Tuesday, 25th January 2022. The participating universities include Lead City University, First Technical University, Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho and the host, University of Ibadan.

On Wednesday, 26th January 2022, the competition started properly with teams facing different sports and winners emerging. In the first football contest of the qualifying series, it was a white for the contingents from First Technical University and they were thrashed 7:1 by Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho. Later in the day, the University of Ibadan also trashed Lead City University 2:0 in another football contest.
In basketball, Team LAUTECH ladies defeated their opponents from First Technical University, 10:0. Also, the UI basketball team, UI Warriors trashed their counterpart from First Technical University, 63:5

The whipping of First Technical University continued as they experienced defeats with their representatives in Chess also.
The competition still continues and promises to serve dramatic results and performances.
The NUGA games proper will be hosted by UNILAG later in the year.
