UI Suffers another Loss as Preparation for NUGA Games Intensifies.
The preparation for the Pre NUGA games Zone B preliminaries is still in progress and the UI sports team is still actively engaging in preparatory matches and friendlies.
On Friday 14 January 2022, the female football team of the University of Ibadan played a friendly match against Oluyole Flaming Queens FC and it ended in a 5-2 defeat for the away side.
The match already served up to be filled with goals at the first half ended 3-1 with the Oluyole Flaming Queens having the lead. The first two minutes already produced 2 quickfire goals with the ladies from UI getting the first goal through Dauda Zainab in the first 30 seconds of the game. A quick response from the home team also produced an equalizer all within the first 2 minutes. From then on the Oluyole Queens effortlessly dominated the match with the UI team playing catch up for most of the first half.

The match ended 5-2 in favor of the home team. It was a flaming and domineering performance for the Oluyole Flaming Queens as they are regarded as one of the best female teams in Oyo State. The match had in the present the S.U president, Adewole Adeyinka Mascot, the Students’ Union Sports Director and members of the University of Ibadan Supporters Club to cheer the ladies and provide moral support and provide minute by minute updates to UItes.
