D REVAMP’21: APPRECIATION TO EACH AND EVERY UITE

The Union week for this year was tagged “D’ Revamp”, putting in mind that we wanted and will always want to bring the consciousness of students towards the Students’ Union, indeed, it was a huge success.

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union wishes to use this medium to appreciate every student of the institution for the support, input, massive turnout for the activities outlined for the Union week.

The Union week was held from 21st of September to 26th September, 2021. It was a week filled with various engaging events across various sectors; health, finance, social and a whole lot more.

The week started with a walk against suicide and drug abuse and ended with the commissioning of the viewing centre and gaming centre at the Students’ Union Building, this initiative is to attract students to the Union building and also be conscious of the activities of the Union.

During the week, a 3-day trade fair was organized to help entrepreneurs, business owners within the university especially and outside the university community to market their products to the students; this trade fair pulled a high amount of sales for these business owners and entrepreneurs within the market hours.

Furthermore, the event described as the biggest and greatest in the history of Students’ Union, University of Ibadan, the #ShutDown gyration held during the week with a huge number of students in attendance.

The Inter-hall football competition was also a means to unite halls of residence as residents turned out massively to support their halls of residence during the competition. Nnamdi Azikwe Hall emerged winner of the male Category while Queen Idia hall emerged winner of the female category.

The week also witnessed the return of the King and Queen. The Royal Phoenix, the event to unveil the new Mr and Miss UI was organized in partnership with Elegant Global Concepts, it was an indeed glamorous event.

Once again, we appreciate every student who contributed immensely towards the huge success during the Union Week.
