NSIWC Monthly Allowance For Health Sector Interns And NYSC Members

The National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission (NSIWC) on Sept 1st, 2021 released a circular (SWC/S/04/5,410/VOL VI/436) for the payment of monthly allowance to interns and NYSC members in the health sector (i.e The Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Dentists, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Nurses, Optometrists, Radiographers, Dental Therapists, Dental Technicians and Dieticians).

The circular is further to the press release from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the federation on the removal of NYSC/intern doctors and other health sector interns from the scheme of service.

Further to circular No. HCSF/SPSO/ODD/NCE/CND,100/S.10/III/112 dated 12th April 2021 from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Conveying the decision reached at the 42nd meeting of the National Council on the establishment for the removal of internship programmes/housemanship/NYSC doctors from the scheme of service, the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission hereby issues the table of allowances to be paid to the interns attached as Annex I.

These allowances have been derived from their current remunerations as applicable in the Federal Public Service such that there is no loss in earnings.

The allowances in Annex I will be Adjusted if future changes occur in the professional allowances by follow-up circulars from the commission”
