The Huawei ICT Competition is a competitive ICT talent exchange event developed by Huawei for global college and university students. Participants can register in any of the two competition tracks: the network track or the cloud track. The network track involves IP technologies such as datacom, security, and WLAN. While the cloud track involves IT technologies such as cloud, big data, storage, and artificial intelligence.
The competition aims to promote the healthy development of the ICT talent ecosystem and support the integration of industry and education.
It is scheduled as follows:
Registration: June – September 2021
Preliminary: September – October 2021
National final: October – December 2021
Regional final: February 2022
Global final: May 2022
The competition is targeted at students from colleges and universities that have been established as Huawei ICT Academy or intending to become Huawei ICT Academy. To get more information, visit here.
Also, the candidates who will attend the Regional Final and Global Final must have Huawei Certification and must come from the same Huawei ICT Academy as a team (Each team consisting of three students and one teacher). Each candidate can participate in only one track. (The practice track and innovations track are mutually exclusive. The network track and cloud track of the practice competition are mutually exclusive.)
Various prizes are promised to be awarded to high-performing teams at both the national final and the regional final. In the previous year edition, the University of Ibadan, alongside ABU and UNIPORT, emerged as global champions in the network and cloud categories.
