U. I Begins Vaccination Of Staff and Students Against COVID-19.

The University of Ibadan has started the vaccination of members of the university community which include both staff and students against COVID-19.

The rise in the number of confirmed cases nationwide and the emergence of the new Delta variant of the dreaded virus coupled with the current 3rd wave of the virus itself has necessitated the vaccination process within the university community. The university recently resumed for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session and to avoid an outbreak of the virus on the university campus which would lead to halting of the academic activities of the second semester hence the university management has decided to be proactive.

This vaccination program is part of the preventive measures employed by the university management to avoid an outbreak of COVID-19 on campus. Other preventive measures include the “NO MASK NO ENTRY” policy, provision of soap and water for handwashing at strategic points in the university.
