SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES FOR 2021 SIGMA TERTIARY ESSAY COMPETITION
Sigma Club University of Ibadan, the oldest surviving Students’ Organization in Sub-Saharan Africa, has announced another edition of Sigma Tertiary Essay Competition.
This announcement was made known on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, following the release of graphics containing essential details about the program such as the essay topic, eligibility requirements, essay format, and more, to the general public.
It is worthy of note that Sigma Tertiary Essay Competition has changed its name to Benedict Kudayah’s Sigma Tertiary Essay Competition from this 2021 Edition henceforth. This is named in honour and on behalf of Old Sigmite Francis Kudayah, the Chairman & Managing Partner, Michael Stevens Consulting Limited, who was also an undergraduate member of Sigma Club, University of Ibadan during his tertiary institution days, after his father, Benedict Kudayah.
Founded in 1950, Sigma Club University of Ibadan; the architect of the glorious Havana Musical Carnival is a social and philanthropic student’s organization with considerable focus on good character, discipline, integrity and national development.
Submission of entries for 2021 Benedict Kudayah’s Sigma Tertiary Essay Competition commenced on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. This competition is exclusive to only tertiary institution students, including Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. All entries are to be submitted by mail to [email protected]
This edition of Sigma Tertiary Essay Competition is centered on the rampant cases of insecurity in Nigeria. Hence the topic for this edition: FINDING THE PATHWAY TO SOLVING THE PROBLEM OF INSECURITY IN NIGERIA.
As a club that is deeply committed and passionate about national development, the essay competition will offer opportunities to dissect through deep intellectual course, the probable approaches to solving the incessant dilemma of insecurity in Nigeria.
Deadline for submission of all entries is Monday, August 30, 2021.
Cash prizes would be awarded to the top 3 entries in the competition, having the participant with the best entry go home with N100,000, while the second and third top entries would also be awarded N50,000 and N30,000 respectively.
The Sigma Chief – Ibrahim Olanrewaju, uses this golden opportunity to invite, and encourage, all Tertiary Institution students all over Nigeria to partake in this exceptional essay competition by submitting their entries to the designated email address on or before the submission deadline.
