BREAKING: History made as Prof. Olufunke Ola-Davies Emerges First Female Dean of Faculty of Vet medicine, UI

Congratulations are in order for prof. Ola-Davies O.E as she was elected the 16TH and first female Dean in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan on Tuesday, 8th June, 2021 at the faculty auditorium.

It was gathered that she ran unopposed and she enjoyed unanimous support from the electorates which consisted of professors, H.O.Ds and the members of the academic staff of the faculty.

In recent years, she has built a verifiable and remarkable track record of leadership and excellence. Firstly, as serving as the class rep when she was an undergraduate over the likes of Beautiful Nubia, Dr. Bosade Ogunalana (Ayaa paito wa), prof. J.O Olopade and many others.

With her sterling research experiences, she has held the position as the Head of Department of Veterinary Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Fellow of Council of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria (FCVSN) and an astute researcher

However, It is worthy to note that she is the first female professor of Veterinary Biochemistry in West Africa.

Other elected officers includes; Dr Ogundijo Sub-dean Undergraduate (Department of Vet Public Health and Preventive Medicine), Dr Soji Abiola Sub-dean Clinics (Department of Vet Medicine) and Dr Omotosho Sub-dean postgraduate (Department of Vet Medicine)
