UI Commences Distribution of ERT Data Support to Students.
The University of Ibadan earlier today, began the distribution of mobile data under the ERT Data Support scheme to students for the purpose of virtual classes. This is in line with the earlier made promises by the university management and the Students’ union leadership to provide data support to ease the cost of data purchase on students.
Earlier in the semester, students were required to drop their personal information on a portal made available by the university management to aid in the disbursing of the data relief. Although, it is believed that only Glo users have been able to enjoy this 3 GB benefit for now and it’s meant to last for 30 days before expiration. Although, it is expected to go round other networks subsequently.
However, this is coming at a time where there is a circulating rumour amongst student that the university senate council that sat on Monday, 17 May 2021 had approved physical resumption for students and also reopening of the halls of residence in which the university is yet to release an official statement to that effect.
