The Senate council of the University of Ibadan is expected to sit on Monday, May 17, 2021 to deliberate on approving physical resumption for students.
This was confirmed in a telegram chat between Mr Ayodele Abiodun the course rep of Physics 100level and Prof. Idowu Farai on 13th of May, 2021.
The concerned student, asked for clarification concerning a rumour amongst 100 level physics student about a test that was to hold on Monday 17th of May, 2021.
The lecturer in his response debunked the rumours while confirming the senate meeting scheduled for the same day. He said “I am not aware of any arrangement for test on Monday. I am however aware that the senate will be meeting on Monday to decide on students physical resumption at the end of this month.” He also related his intentions for the students, He said “…if that works out right, it would be my pleasure to welcome you to school with a test in PHY102. That is my prayer”
The University of Ibadan has been running a virtual system for classes and assessment since her resumption for the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic session due to the restrictions put in place by the government on large gatherings due to the pandemic.
If the proposed physical resumption will be approved is still unknown, but if it does, halls of residence will likely be opened, likewise places of worship and cafeterias.
