Professor Adebola Babatunde Ekanola, 50, was born in Ibadan on 2nd of December, 1969 to the family of Late Chief Adeyanju and Victoria Ekanola. He had his primary education at the polytechnic Ibadan primary school between 1973 and 1980.
He had his secondary education at government college, Ibadan between 1980 and 1985. He had his A’level studies at the polytechnic of Ibadan Before proceeding to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to study philosophy between 1987-1991 Where he graduated with first class honours, BSc philosophy. After his Youth service, he proceeded to the university of Ibadan for His M.A in 1996 topping his class and subsequently, PhD in 2003.
He began his career as graduate assistant at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1994 and was later employed as assistant lecturer in the department of philosophy, university of Ibadan on 29th of April 1997. He became a lecturer II in 1999 and was promoted to lecturer I grade in 2002, senior lecturer in 2005 and professor in 2010.
Ekanola with over 60 publications has facilitated many international MoUs for UI and has established many international collaborations on its behalf across all continents. Also, he is NUC’s National Coordinator of the Network of Directors of Internationalisation in Nigerian Universities, NODINU.
He is happily married to Mrs Yetunde Aderemi Ekanola and blessed with 4 wonderful children.
