PROFESSOR RASAQ OLATUNDE ROM KALILU’S CITATION:
Prof. Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu is a polymath artist. He specializes in Form and Material Technology, Painting, Digital and Electronic Art, and Art History. He studied at the University of Ife and the University of Ibadan.
The Ogbomoso-Born Professor is an outstanding and prolific scholar who has published in all continents of the world. Aside from his numerous scholarly articles in learned journals, he has a good number of books to his credit.

Prof. R. O. Rom Kalilu’s career development is extensive and indepth. He joined Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso as Lecturer I in 1992. He became Professor in 1999.
He is the author of Cultism on the Nigerian Campus: Perspective from Art and History; Architecture of School Cults and Violence; Fundamentals of Drawing, Vocational Education and the Challenges of the Nigerian Economy. He co-authored Shaft of Distinction and Ceramics: Art and Technology in the 21st Century Southwestern Nigeria and edited African Art: Definition, Forms and Styles and Powers of Expression and Expressions of Power in Yoruba Art.
Prof. Rom Kalilu is a recipient of many national and international prizes and awards, which include the Gold Medal in the 1978 – 1979 All Africa Painting Contest, Elected Membership of the New York Academy of Sciences in recognition of his works in and contributions to Science and Technology, The National Arts Wizard Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Art History in 1997, Merit Prize in International Postage Stamp Design Contest in 1997, the Outstanding People of the 20th Century Outstanding Achievement Medal in 2000, and the Twentieth Century Achievement Award.
His other prizes and awards include his selection as one of the 1000 Leaders of World Influence for the 21th century in year 2000, and the outstanding and prestigious Universal Award of Accomplishment in year 2000. In the 2001, he was selected as one of the 500 Leaders of World Influence by the American Biographical Institute, United States of America. Furthermore, he received the Development in Nigeria Merit Award in 2006.
In 2009, he received the Form and Material Technology Icon award. R. O. Rom Kalilu is a Justice of the Peace, Patron-Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, Member, International Society of Experimental Artists, Member, Australian Ceramic Society, Member, International Association of Astronomical Artists, Fellow of the Society of Nigerian Artists.
He is happily married with glorious children and grandchildren.
