They are Signs that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will call off it’s over three-month-old industrial action came in the evening of Thursday, February 7, with the report that the association has reached an agreement with the federal government.
According to ASUu official twitter account, The NEC has decided that the STRIKE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED. Academic activities resume tomorrow being Friday, 9th of February 2019.

Before you un-follow, remember that this is a suspension not an outright call-off.
If government reneges on our memorandum of agreement, @ASUUNGR will be embark on another industrial action with full force.

ASUU also mention the reason why the union embarked on an indefinte strike and emphasis that the suspension doesn’t mean that the strike has been called off permanently.
The following are the issues ASUU has with the Federal government of Nigeria which has necessitated the indefinite strike action.
1. Refusal to honor the 2009 agreement.
2. 2013 MOU; funding for the revitalization of public universities; earned academic allowances;

So, all university students should prepare for a serious Academic work as academic activities will resume immediately.
We hope also that ASUP will susoend their strike action, so that Polytechnic’ can start up their Academic work.
